The Perfect Fuel Tank / Tool Box Combo for Fifth Wheel Towing

We lived and traveled in our RV for a year or so before purchasing this FuelBox and looking back, I don’t know how we ever lived without it… or better yet – WHY.

It changed the game for us.

First of all – it’s part tool box | part fuel tank.

TOOL BOX

We all know how important storage becomes when you move into an RV full–time. This tool box allows us to carry additional tools without adding extra weight in the RV.

FUEL TANK

This is where the game was changed. This fuel tank makes filling our RV’s gas tanks super easy. And I mean, SUPER EASY.

This FuelBox holds 57 gallons.

Our RV’s gas tanks hold 60 gallons. (These tanks fuel our generator directly, which in turn allows us to have power when we’re dry camping, boondocking or experiencing a power outage for any reason.)

Before purchasing our FuelBox, we tried manually refilling our RV’s tanks using 5-gallon gas jugs. And it took forever. It was a disaster. We spilled gas everywhere, got ate up by mosquitos and could never really get ALL the gas out of the jugs. Oh – and it took at least 30 minutes each time.

But with this fuel tank we can pump 30 gallons in 2 minutes!

I custom ordered this combo box from The Fuel Box and they have so many options to choose from.

THE SPECIFIC OPTIONS I CHOSE:

– a smooth finish instead of the diamond plate

– a durable spray-on liner coating the inside and outside to protect the box from scuffs and scratches

– a transfer pump to move the fuel from the tank to anywhere

– a filter kit to remove particulates from the fuel and further protect our systems

– a fuel meter so you can see exactly how much fuel you’re pumping

This combo tank is heavy-duty, high-quality, looks great with our all-black setup and sits just below the bed rails – allowing us to add and easily use this low profile bed cover.

I was also able to wire this combo tank directly to the truck’s upfitter switches so we can conveniently power it on and off from inside the cab.

It’s legal in all states, meets all DOT and EPA regulations, clears most gooseneck and fifth wheels trailers and is built right here in the USA by a family-owned business.
